ADS.FIANCETRACK(2).DLL Trojan Hoax

Hey there!

Have you heard of the ADS.FIANCETRACK(2).DLL Trojan hoax that has been circulating on the internet recently? If not, let me give you a quick rundown on what it is and how you can protect yourself.

Firstly, let's talk about what a Trojan is. A Trojan, also known as a Trojan horse, is a type of malware that disguises itself as a legitimate software program but actually carries out harmful actions on your computer. This can include stealing your personal information, damaging your files or even taking control of your system.

Now, let's get back to the ADS.FIANCETRACK(2).DLL Trojan hoax. Essentially, this is a fake alert that pops up on your screen, warning you that your computer is infected with the ADS.FIANCETRACK(2).DLL Trojan. It then prompts you to download a program that will supposedly remove the Trojan from your system. Another varient will prompt you to call a support number.

However, this alert is actually a hoax, and the program that you're prompted to download is actually the Trojan itself. Once downloaded, the Trojan can then carry out its malicious actions on your computer.

So, how can you protect yourself from falling victim to this hoax? Firstly, be wary of any alerts that pop up on your computer claiming that you're infected with a virus or Trojan. If you're unsure whether the alert is legitimate or not, do a quick search online to see if others have reported similar issues.

Also, NEVER call a number that you are not sure about!  Most likely they will ask you for your credit card info to "fix" the problem.  The picture in this post is a screen shot captured of just such a hoax.  Let me be clear - Microsoft will not and cannot block access to your PC.  If you do descide to call them for support, look up the support number online (preferably from a device not suspected of being compromised).

Additionally, make sure that your antivirus software is up-to-date and that you're regularly scanning your computer for malware. This will help to detect and remove any Trojans that may have slipped past your defenses.  You can also download, install and run Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool 64-bit for added peace of mind.

Finally, if you do happen to fall victim to the ADS.FIANCETRACK(2).DLL Trojan hoax, don't panic! Disconnect your computer from the internet and run a full virus scan using your antivirus software. This should detect and remove the Trojan from your system.

The ADS.FIANCETRACK(2).DLL Trojan hoax is just one of many scams that cybercriminals use to try and infect your computer with malware. By staying vigilant and taking the necessary precautions, you can protect yourself and your computer from these threats.

Stay safe out there!
